UGC Ishan Uday Scholarship 2023

University Grants Commission known as University Grants Commission has taken the authority of the Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme and promotes higher education in North-East India. For promoting higher education and encouraging children UGC provides 10,000 fresh scholarships every year with a scholarship amount of Rs 5400/month for general degree courses and Rs. 7800/month for technical/medical/professional/paramedical courses. Applicants must apply in the TDC 1st Year and the Scholarship can be renewed until the next two years of the degree.

Ishan Uday Scholarship Amount and Scope

Amount: Rs 5400/month for general degree courses and Rs. 7800/month for technical/medical/professional/paramedical courses

Scope: 10,000 Scholarships will be awarded

Ishan Uday Scholarship 2023 Eligibility

Know who can apply for the Ishan Uday scholarship, Students have to be permanent residents of northeast India and must take admission to degree courses in institutions situated in northeast India.

Eligible State: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tripura.

Educational Qualification: 12th Pass or equivalent.

When to Apply: Students after taking admission in 1st year in degree course.

Family Income: Family income should not be more than 4.5 lakhs.

Applicants should not be admitted to Open Universities.

Applicants should not be already awarded this scholarship for pursuing another course before.

Documents Required for Ishan Uday Scholarship

• Income certificate
• Domicile State Certificate
• Affidavit (Undertaking for not availing any other Scholarship in the form of an affidavit on Rs.50/- Stamp paper from the student/parent duly attested by SDM / First Class Magistrate / Gazette Officer (not below the rank of Tahsildar) copying the prescribed languages (Annexure-IV))
• Bank Passbook
• Joining Proforma for fresh awardees (Annexure-I)
• Proforma for renewal ( Annexure-II)
• Quarterly Continuation certificate(Annexure-III)

Renewal of UGC Ishan Uday Scholarship 2023

Applicants can be renewed during the entire degree course, But applicants have to maintain prescribed attendance and good conduct. and those who have failed to get promoted to the next class will be excluded from renewal.
