NMMS Scholarship Exam 2025
Government of India, Ministry of Education, offers National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections. Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam conducts the selection test for candidates from Assam. It intends to offer scholarships to prevent the dropout of students at class VIII and to make them actively continue study at the secondary level.
These students will be offered a scholarship of ₹12,000 every year from Class IX to Class XII. Applications are called through the website from present Class VIII students for the exam to be held on 15th November 2025.

Other Details of NMMS Exam
Eligible Schools: Only students studying in Government, Provincialised, and Local Body schools are eligible for the scholarship. Students from private schools may appear in the exam but will not be considered for the scholarship amount.
NSP Registration: It is mandatory for students to have a One Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) before applying for the NMMS exam.
Exam Pattern: The exam will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) on OMR sheets and will have two parts: Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), each of 90 marks.
