Assam VFA Admission 2025 – Apply for Veterinary Field Assistant Training

Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Assam, has announced the much-awaited VFA Training Course Admission for 2025. With 200 seats available and zero application fees

What is the VFA Training Course?

The Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) Training is a one-year course conducted at the School of Veterinary Science & A.H. in Ghungoor, Silchar, and its extended campuses. The course equips candidates with elementary knowledge in Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, preparing them for field-level responsibilities in rural and urban Assam.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam VFA Admission 2025

Educational Qualification:

• HSSLC (Science) pass with Biology as a subject from a recognized board or council.

Age Limit:

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 30 years as on 01/01/2025

Age Relaxation:

• OBC/MOBC: 3 years
• SC/ST (P/H): 5 years

Only the date of birth recorded in HSLC or equivalent certificate is accepted.

Reservation Breakdown (Out of 200 Seats)

Reservations follow Assam Government policies. EWS candidates must upload income certificates in prescribed format.

Required Documents for VFA Application

Candidates must upload the following scanned documents:

1. HSLC Admit Card or Certificate (for age proof)
2. HSSLC (Science) Marksheet
3. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) or PRC Application Receipt
4. Passport Size Photograph (JPEG, 200-500 KB)
5. Signature (JPEG, 30-100 KB)
6. Caste/EWS Certificate (if applicable)
7. DDO Certificate (for Grade-IV departmental employees)
8. Identity Proof (PAN, Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.)

Selection Process: What to Expect

Selection is merit-based and includes a 100-mark Personality Assessment Test (PAT).

PAT Evaluation Criteria:

The PAT involves questions on:

• Biology
• Physics
• Chemistry
• General Awareness (State & National)

Each candidate is asked 5 questions by each board member (2–3 members rotate daily), and each question carries 4 marks.
